SEARCHES
Searches include: - General search by various criteria
- Searches by design
- By an image seen in the base of an item when holding it up to the light (lithophanes)
- And items with a picture of a particular place.
You can search to find the year covered by a Design Registration Number, find items by style (e.g. Bourne & Leigh produce Albion Ware and the search will find items by either); there is also a search for beakers based on their shape (e.g. barrel or V-shaped).

DESIGNS
Designs can be based on different pictures of a monarch, their monogram or on illustrations of Royal Heraldic symbols or national flags. Sometimes there are pictures of other famous people.
Similar designs frequently appear on more than one commemorative, typically in different colours. They can also be on different shapes, sizes or types of commemorative (e.g. Beakers or mugs).
If you are looking to see if an item that you own is in the collection, there is a particularly useful design search where, after selection, one example of each design is picked for display. When a design is clicked, all commemoratives with that design are pictured. Primary search criteria are by monarch, commemoration event, and, whether and how they are pictured.

MAPS
There are many commemoratives associated with places, organisations, companies or peoples' names, for example: - Towns
- Churches
- Sunday schools
- Stately homes
- Commissioners and vendors (advertisers).
Place-markers on a map let you select and display commemoratives associated with where these are and also give a feel for areas in England and worldwide which have dedicated commemoratives. Makers and their potteries are also maped.
Clicking on a place-marker displays a picture of a commemorative and you can then choose to display all related commemoratives.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
I have selected various 'virtual collections' or Special Collections and you can display commemoratives from these lists. These can be added to easliy as the collection evolves and areas of interest change.

FAVOURITES AND DISPLAYS
In the collection some items are pretty ordinary but others are particularly attractive or interesting and I have, quite subjectively, selected a few of my favourites for you.
I also thought that some pictures of commemoratives together in display cabinets would be interesting and have included a few.

WANTED ITEMS
The Wanted List has been primarily populated over the years from my collection of books, museum visits or auctions. It is very rewarding when I am able to acquire items in the list, sometimes up to twenty years later.

REFERENCES AND SOURCES: BOOKS AND EVENTS
I have many books which reference and illustrate commemorative items. Book picture references are cross-linked to collection items.
Commemoratives are also categorised by commemorative events and these pages have event illustrations and allow you to display all items associated with a particular event.

KEEPING UP TO DATE
The rotating banner above shows most recent beaker additions.
Although my primary interest is beakers I have always been intrigued by Queen Victoria's Jubilee of 1887 (later this became known as Her Golden Jubilee) and I collect cup, saucer and plate combinations. I am also fascinated by Victoria Golden Jubilee glass items.
